KPS Gill visits Bassi Pathana to meet hockey teams

Bassi Pathana, September 17:
Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) Advisor, Mr. KPS Gill, former DGP Punjab, visited Bassi Pathana to meet with the teams participating in the Sub Junior U15 National Girls Hockey Championship which is being held under the aegis of IHF.
Mr Gill witnessed the fixture between Punjab and Manipur ended in a draw.
Later he met with the participating teams in Police Lines, Fatehgarh Saheb, where their stay arrangements have been made.
Addressing the players, he said that hockey is not a mere game but a career, and the young girls should work for that.
Recalling his younger days as a hockey player, he said that it used to be a passion for them and were called by every other team as “the wall of China” for their formidable play.
He complimented MBCT Hockey Nursery for their elaborate arrangements and for grooming young boys and girls for hockey.
Mr. Gill also released the Championship merchandise which included a watch, tshirt, mug, bag, and lapel badges.
