Bassi Pathana, September 16: Five teams have qualified for
the knock-out quarter final stage on the third day of the National Sub Junior
U15 Girls Hockey Championship being held here in Bassi Pathana, Fatehgarh
Saheb.
Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, MBCT Hockey Nursery,
and Haryana girls have entered the knock-out quarter final stage.
On the third day, in the Pool G match, Manipur routed
Rajasthan 8-0 in a one-sided play, with the first goal coming off Neha in the
18th minute and Lalle B Chanu sounded the board in 27th
minute, with Bijeta Devi scored the second goal followed by brilliant moves by
Anamika who scored a hat-trick with three goals one after the other. Lanchen
Chanu added two goals in 37th and 41st minute with Lalleibi
closing with another goal in 45th minute.
MBCT Hockey Nursery girls from Bassi Pathana had a field day who defeated Madhya Pradesh girls 13-0. From the word ‘go’, hockey nursery team was in the MP half, and sounded the board in the very first minute followed by next few goals in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 12th and 14th minutes. The goals continued to come off their sticks till the end, in which Gagandeep scored 3, Amandeep 2, Kashish 2, Kajal 2, Ramanpreet 1, Amritpal Kaur 1, and Sonali 1.
Chandigarh girls kept the score board moving defeating Tamil
Nadu with 14-0. Poonam, Saroj and Shilpi dribbled past the defenders time and
again and kept the pressure on not letting the rivals come to near their
half. It was a great team work. In the 8th
minute itself Poonam had the first kill, with Amanjot sounding the board in 13th,
Krishma Singh in the 15th and Anjali in the 17th minute.
Shilpi moved in again in the 19th and 20th minutes to
score two goals consecutively, and had another field goal in the 39th
minute. Sharmila scored in the 31st minute, while Poonam scored
another one in 35th minute while Saroj scored goals in the 37th,
40th and 46th minutes, with Lakhwinder adding another one
in the 43 minute.
Match between Bihar and Chattisgarh finished with 1-1. Yogito scored the first goal in the 11th
minute but repeated attempts by both sides did not yield any results till the
49th minute when Bihar’s Tulsi Kumari sounded the board to level the
scores.
Haryana girls won 3-1 against Mumbai team after leading with
2-0 till half time. Neha, Kavita and
Devika scored one goal each for Haryana while Natasha reduced the margin by
scoring a goal in 27th minute.
